But it doesn&#39;t have to be.</font></big></span></p> <p> <span style="font-size:16px;"><big><font class="Apple-style-span" face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Many DCC athletes have been coached to personal bests and recorded dramatic improvements in overall fitness because they participate in the weighlifting class with Jimmy DeVries, Fridays at 6:00 PM.&nbsp;</font></big></span></p> <p> <span style="font-size:16px;"><big><font class="Apple-style-span" face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">&quot;This sort of outstanding training is usually available only to people who pay big bucks for one-on-one sessions,&quot; says Daniel Freedman, one of the class regulars. &quot;It&#39;s really unusual to get so much expert coaching and personal attention as part of your membership package or for a small drop in fee.&quot;<br /> <br /> The class is small, usually 3-8 people. And everything is scaled for each athlete, with plenty of individual coaching.<br /> <br /> Classes typically focus on a single lift for several weeks. Right now, Jimmy is coaching his athletes through power cleans. Beginners are focusing on the basic mechanics. More experienced lifters are setting PRs. Rep schemes and weights vary according to individual goals, under Jimmy&#39;s guidance.</font></big></span></p> <p> <span style="font-size:16px;"><big><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Last month, the class did a &quot;bear complex&quot; each week for several weeks.
