We all know that the majority of amateur and professional sports out there are FAR from slow in nature.  This being said, once mastered, Olympic weightlifting can greatly increase an athletes OVERALL Speed, strength and explosiveness in any sport.

That’s the beauty of it…..its transferable to most sports.  As an athlete, giving your command centre (hips) the ability to be the main source of where power is generated, will make you a stand out in terms of a wide variety of aspects of that particular sport.  Depending on the sport and/or the position of the player, things such as tackling power, speed, vertical, torque, kicking etc etc can be improved ten-fold with the correct utilization of explosive weight training.

DCC Coach Making an Impact on the CFL on May 31st, 2010 at 9:39 am

Jonathan Hood is staking his name to a career in the CFL.

Jonathan played University football at STFX U and U of Western Ontario as a defensive back and linebacker.  He also returned kicks and was an allstar in the league breaking CIS kick return records.

Jonathan was drafted in 2008 by the Edmonton Eskimos and spent half a season there, before deciding to go to school to complete a Masters in Sports Psychology.  Now two years later after attending a number of combines and camps he’s gotten the call to go to camp for the Hamilton Ti Cats.  Camp begins in June and Jonathan is ready to assume his spot once again in the Canadian Football  League.

Originally from Mississauga Ontario, playing for Hamilton will enable Jonathan to continue his other career as a strength coach at the Dynamic Conditioning Centre in Toronto, where he has been a coach since the beginning of 2010.

We want to wish Jonathan the best of luck at camp!  Turn some heads Jon!

Take a look at the link for some of Jonathan’s highlights.

Before working with Jared at his unique high performance facility, the Dynamic Conditioning Centre, I had only performed workouts that I read about in magazines. These workouts were not meant to help improve me as a professional athlete. Jared has developed a program that has not only rapidly increased my max Bench and Squat results, but has improved my overall foot speed, agility, power, and flexibility. Jared has taught me many things that have already improved my game and will decrease my chance of injury. These two components are key in ensuring that I have a long and enjoyable career as a professional Lacrosse player. The workouts are tough but always enjoyable. I would recommend Jared and the Dynamic Conditioning Centre to any athlete, at any level, and especially Lacrosse players.
