Jared Postance DOMPT, DO MRO, CAT(c)

Classical Osteopath

Co-founder Jared Postance was at one time a much sought after Football prospect by many top Canadian Universities including Queen's University where he spent four years earning his Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Arts in Health. Jared received his certification in Athletic Therapy from the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association. In March of 2006, Jared became a Holistic Lifestyle Coach Level 1 from the highly acclaimed CHEK Institute. Most recently, Jared has graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy & Holistic Health Sciences. He specializes in applying his knowledge of the structure (anatomy) and function (physiology) of the body, to all diseases, disorders and dysfunctions. As a student of Osteopathic Manual Medicine, Jared uses a gentle hands-on or manual approach to identify the causative factor of the problem and restore order to all of the systems: musculoskeletal, respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive, reproductive, or nervous system.

Jared has worked with all levels of sport including numerous athletes from the NHL, AFL, NLL, CFL, OVFL, CSA and many Canadian University programs. As a competitive athlete, Jared is a member of the Canada's National Aussie Rules Football Program that spent the summer of 2008 in Australia competing for Canada at the International Cup.

Lee Davy NSCA-CPT

CEO

Co-founder of the Dynamic Conditioning Centres in Toronto, Lee's first athletic love was hockey.  He played for over 18 years until slowly switching his focus to strength training. That focus has spawned an entire life built around health and fitness with over 16 years of training experience and more than 12 years coaching.

Lee attended the Fitness and Nutrition program at Humber College.  His thirst for knowledge continued with the study of Chek (Scientific Back/Core) and Charles Poliquin (PICP/Biosignature). He has been certified with the NSCA (Trainer) and NCCP (Olympic lifting Coach).  He is a Poliquin Biosignature Specialist and Level I Certified Coach. 

Lee continually pushes his own boundaries and those of his clients looking to surpass previous limits, both those on body and mind.  During a 7 year span, Lee competed as a Pro International Fitness Model and Bodybuilder compiling numerous top ten finishes. He is an avid Martial artist (Kung Fu, Ju Jitsu), has had roles in a multitude of television commercials and been featured in many magazines, both for his physique and writing knowledge.  These include Maximum Fitness, American Health and Fitness, FAME Magazine & Swimsuit Magazine and Urban Fitness.

Lee practices the same training and diet principles he applies with his clients while guiding them to evolutionary results. Lee has had the privilege of developing programs for many elite athletes and teams in the CFL, MNBA, JR. ‘A’, OHF, OHL and European Hockey leagues and was a coach at the Nike/Bauer Hockey Camp in 04’.  He has helped numerous stage competitors attain ‘picture perfect’ physiques, including Paula Ryff (former world figure champion).  His resume of clients include Rex Harrington (National Ballet), Jon Lavine (Philosopher Kings), Kreesha Turner (R&B Artist), Brian Ihnacak (semi-pro hockey), Nationally ranked boxers, MMA fighters, EMS and Military trainees, corporate execs/young business professionals and those simply wishing to lead and maintain a healthy active quality of life.

Tyson Staples BSc., Kinesiology, CSCS, PFLC, SMS

Strength and Conditioning Specialist

Tyson received his honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo in 1998. His passion for athletics and an accomplished sporting background first directed him toward the fitness industry in 1995. Starting as a personal trainer, he later evolved into a leader with Canada’s largest chain of fitness clubs, lending his expertise to his peers, helping improve their own skills. An accomplished speaker, Tyson has had the opportunity to share his passion across country with audiences ranging from small groups to more than 200. In his spare time, you’ll likely find Tyson competing in one of his many athletic pursuits, which include playing hockey, competing at Ironman™ triathlon events, skiing, rock climbing or mountain biking. Over the past 10 years has coached a wide range of clientele including police officers, elite junior tennis players, professional hockey players, and provincial team kayakers.

Blaise Ambrose

Muay Thai Instructor

Blaise has been training at DCC since November 2007. He has been training in Mauy Thai kickboxing for over three years and has taught conditioning based Mauy Thai classes for over two years. He has been involved in many different competitive sports his entire life, including sprinting at York University as well as spending many years playing and coaching soccer. He brings a motivating, intense and fun approach to his classes.

Shannon Conrad BSc., Grad. Dip. Ed., RHN, ROHP

Registered Holistic Nutritionist & Registered Orthomolecular Health Practitioner

Shannon is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN) and Registered Orthomolecular Health Practitioner (ROHP). She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Food Biotechnology in 2003, Graduate degree in Education in 2006 and in 2008 after pursuing a long-term interest in health and nutrition, graduated with Merit of Distinction from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN). Recently she has also become a member of the International Organization of Nutritional Consultants (IONC) and completed a Biosignature Modulation Practitioner course with Charles Poliquin, renowned strength coach and founder of Poliquin Performance. She now uses her scientific knowledge, educational skills and passion for nutrition to guide her clients to achieving optimal health and well-being.

As a holistic practitioner, Shannon appreciates that everyone is biochemically unique and therefore has individual needs. She develops protocols to help clients achieve personal health goal while restoring balance and maximizing vitality and performance. Based on the results of an in depth nutritional/lifestyle assessment and hormonal profile, recommendations are focused on making better food choices, developing healthier lifestyle habits, improving digestion and detoxification, while incorporating the latest nutritional breakthroughs and use of supplementation when needed.

Jimmy DeVries CSEP, CPT, DFHP

Strength and Conditioning Specialist

Jimmy is a strength coach who has been teaching at Dynamic Conditioning Centre since June 2009. His passion for athletic conditioning started in his early years when he was competing with the Skill and Arms team in the Lincoln and Welland Regiment in 2000 . Through cadets, he trained in Cannaught military base in Ottawa where he was taught various athletic conditioning techniques to obtain top levels of performace. Jimmy anxiously expanded his knowledge in athletic conditioning enrolling in weight lifting courses in his senior year of high school. Jimmy obtained a diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion and CSEP (Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology) sanctioned Jimmy to serve as a health and fitness practitioner in June 2009. Jimmy constantly studies new material from various books, articles, and other highly certified strength coaches so he can service his clients with leading science and reason.

Matt Hodgson M.Sc., CSCS

Education Director/Strength and Conditioning Specialist

Matt received his Master of Science degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Victoria in 2004. He has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) since 2000 and a registered Personal Fitness and Lifestyle Consultant (PFLC) since 2001.

Matt has been actively working as a Physical Conditioning Consultant in the Peterborough, Toronto and Victoria areas since 1995. During this time he has worked with numerous athletes and teams varying in training status from novice/beginner to professional and national level athletes. Matt’s areas of specialization include; functional strength and power development, and sports-specific speed, agility and quickness training. His recent motivation involves establishing and promoting youth fitness initiatives. He has lectured and published articles in peer-reviewed scientific and popular sport conditioning journals, focusing on the underlying physiology of power development and the implications for motor performance.

Matt’s athletic background includes elite club and varsity level rugby in BC and Ontario. He has also competed at the representative level in track, football and soccer in his youth. Matt is currently pursuing his pre-service firefighter diploma from Seneca College, aspiring to become a Firefighter in the GTA.

Tyler Lees-Schmut FLMP,CSEP-CFC,CPT

Strength and Conditioning Specialist

DCC's newest addition (Newcomer to the team) and exercise specialist Tyler Lees-Schmut has just completed two years of school in the Fitness and Lifestyle Management Program at George Brown College has finished his placement at the Dynamic Conditioning Centre. While at DCC Tyler worked with and did...furthering his skills acquired at George Brown

While at George Brown...and is nearly finished his field placement here at the Dynamic Conditioning Centre. He hopes to join the team at the centre upon completion of the placement. Tyler has previously been involved playing ball hockey for the Toronto Hawks, playing rugby for his high school team, and playing tennis under the OTA where he was ranked 458th in Ontario. Tyler recently acquired his CSEP - CPT certification through the college and is eager to put it to use. His previous experience with fitness assessment, training and program design was in the program at George Brown where he had four clients in the fourth and fifth semesters. Tyler has had experience with assessing the Mimico Mountaineers Lacrosse team and the De Lasalle High School basketball team. He plans to further his education by dabbling in the world of kinesiology at York University come fall 2007.

Karla McConnell CAT(C), D.AC

Athletic Therapist

Karla graduated from Sheridan College's Sports Injury Management program and went on to complete her certification with the CATA. In 2000, she obtained her Doctorate of Acupuncture. In the clinic, she utilizes many manual techniques such Muscle Energy and Myofascial Stretching. Karla has also worked extensively with all levels of competition from provincial to international and has participated as a member of the medical team for the Canadian and Provincial Games. Karla's range of experiences include: the Ontario Women's Baseball teams, Marathon runners, Triathlon participants, Dancers and providing coverage on such movie sets as Chicago and Music Man. Karla currently spends time working and traveling with Stars on Ice.

Nancy Medeiros DOMPT, DO MRO, CAT(c), Hons. BA-Kin, ATC

Classical Osteopath

Nancy is a graduate of the Canadian Academy of Osteopath and Holistic Health Sciences. She also attended York University where she graduated in 2004 with an Honours in Kinesiology & Health Sciences and obtained a certificate in Athletic Therapy. Nancy has worked with Women's field hockey, Women's Basketball and Varsity Football. In 2005, Nancy received her certifications in Athletic Therapy from the CATA & NATA. Nancy has also spent time working with the National Canadian U15 Women's Soccer team

Don Robichaud R.M.T

Massage Therapist

Graduating as valedictorian and class president from the leading massage therapy school in Toronto, Don joins the team with a vast knowledge of different modalities and techniques that are incorporated through out his practise. Trained in Swedish, Lymphatic Shiatsu, Sports Massage, Don’s therapeutic sessions are in demand from people from all walks of life.

Specializing in deep tissue and shiatsu therapy he works with the clients natural body functions to aid in the recovery and stimulating the nervous system to promote the natural healing processes. Combining eastern knowledge with western technology Don’s ability to asses clients situations only enhances the results of the treatment and creates a relaxing environment.

Having been associated with the Toronto rugby union for more then 14 years, Don has seen his fair share of bumps, bruises and breaks, with this understanding and first hand knowledge Don can easily comprehend a clients situation and establish a treatment plan that can speed up the recovery of everyday stress to chronic injuries.
